Happy New Year, everyone!! Hope your holidays were great. As I mentioned in my previous post that I'd be back in 2011...here I am! I usually start off the New Year with an entry looking back on the year that was but that will come later because of 2 reasons: #1 - I've been extremely sick for about a week now and have spent more time in bed on my blackberry instead of at a computer AND reason #2 stems from this pic:
YES!! That is a picture of 9th Wonder and Phonte of Little Brother. REALLY early this morning Tay tweeted that pic with the caption, "Took 4 years, 2 plates of food and 6 hrs. of convo, but we squashed it. #brotherhood" and the following statement,
Right now, folks are already dreaming of an LB reunion album or track...me personally, I'm just happy they were able to work it out...regardless of whether they come out with new music together or not...although...a part of me will be quietly wishing for it! ;-)
Just thought I'd share this old (from 2005 or 2006, I think) performance of one of my fave songs, Slow It Down. Friendly Reminder: Don't forget to pause on the mp3 player on the top right before pressing play!

I appreciate the love for me and @9thwondermusic, but us mending our rift had nothing to do with music and everything to do with manhood. We may collaborate in time, but this is not the start of a LB reunion as neither of us have interest in doing so. Sorry to disappoint. Our friendship began as Phonte Coleman and Patrick Douthit long before a ‘LB’ or ‘9th Wonder’ existed. This was about rebuilding that bond. So in closing, happy new year to all our supporters past and present. Feels great to start the year on a positive note. One love.I am more than ecstatic about this. By the time I got to know/meet them, they were already not on speaking terms and to see them come together now it's truly an amazing thing. Never could I choose sides even though I'm closer to one of them more than the other. I was always a fan of both of their music and while the feud was going on, I always wondered: all the parties involved continued to put great music out so why can’t we, as fans, just enjoy it?

Waking up to see that set the day off right..@ that news..
ReplyDeleteThats Beautiful Shyt right there, cats coming together as men and gettin those differences out of the way. Me and One of my best friends fell out for three years over some shyt and we eventually squashed it because we both knew we had been through together as friends and those type of bonds do not come everyday with people. So I say get that bullshyt out of the way and get things right with people who truly know you. Because they could be gone straight up, and you never get a chance to iron things out...
ReplyDeleteYeah man, this is MAJOR. No matter what happens in 2011, this is MY story of the year. I don't think that there will be a Little Brother album anytime soon, but I look forward to Phonte appearances on IWW projects here and there.......
